These pictures are entirely un-representative of the massive trade union organised demonstration against the cuts.
They are, however, a very good pictorial account of what happens when a bunch of posturing bell ends throw paint at banks at the end of a long day.

they aren't pictures of the TUC march at all, which why they are captioned "protests in london" however I think a couple of links from elsewhere may have captioned them as such, leading to confusion.
From what I saw of the TUC march it passed without incident, personally I viewed these protests as entirely separate from the TUC march.
